Born and raised on beautiful Georgian Bay in Collingwood, Ontario, Katie spent her childhood building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, and learning to live life to it’s fullest. This spirit carried through her schooling, where she developed a passion for music, playing the alto saxophone and piano, and forming meaningful friendships. Later, pursuing a career in Radio Broadcasting, Katie worked for the local Collingwood radio station. One of her many roles was a copywriter and producer, collaborating with local businesses to create commercial content unique to their brand and identity. This experience ignited her entrepreneurial spirit, leading her to venture out with a newfound opportunity to manage a local clothing store for a corporate chain. After the birth of her daughter in 2011, Katie gained a whole new vision for life. When it was time to head back to work, she wanted a better work-life balance for her growing family especially after the unfortunate chapter of losing her late mother and learning life is too short! She started Earth Angel Cleaning, a business named in memory of her mom as they reminisced about this dream together. Building a long-term clientele base, she provided natural cleaning solutions to the community. Then the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and Katie found her business shut down, as did many others. This led Katie back to school to become a licensed agent within the mortgage industry where she honed valuable business and character-building skills for four years. She also got involved in her small town supporting other small businesses by joining the Clearview Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and eventually working part time as their Admin Coordinator in 2022. Going through a re-branding with her brokerage in 2023 and still helping other businesses through her local Chamber, Katie quickly realized how much she missed business marketing to guide entrepreneurs in discovering their characteristics, values, mission and differentiation of their unique brand. A very difficult decision to step away from her mortgage agent role, but alas, life comes around full circle, and "Authentically You Marketing" was born. Life is about experiences, chapters that twist and turn, but at the end of the day we all have a purpose, a voice and a unique vision for how we live this life to it's fullest. Katie's enduring passions remain her family, her music and her entrepreneurial drive to support local businesses in expressing their authentic voice and vision. She cannot wait to meet you!
